Scarlett Camberos Makes History with Women’s Ballon d’Or Nomination
The Rebels Soccer Club family is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone for Rebels Alumni Scarlett Camberos, who has been named among the nominees for the 2026 Women’s Ballon d’Or.
The Ballon d’Or is one of the most prestigious individual honors in world soccer, recognizing players whose performances and achievements have placed them among the elite in the game. Scarlett’s nomination carries additional historical significance, as she becomes the first Mexican player ever nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or.
From Rebels to the World Stage
Before competing at the collegiate, professional, and international levels, Scarlett was part of the Rebels Soccer Club pathway. Her journey is a powerful example of where dedication, development, and ambition can lead.
Scarlett went on to play NCAA Division I soccer at UC Irvine, graduating in 2021, before continuing her career professionally and representing Mexico internationally.
Her 2026 campaign has been particularly memorable. With Club América, Scarlett helped the club capture a historic treble consisting of the Liga MX Femenil title, Concacaf W Champions Cup, and Campeón de Campeonas title. She contributed 27 goals and seven assists in 47 matches across all competitions, performances that helped earn her a place among the Ballon d’Or nominees.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Rebels
For Rebels Soccer Club, Scarlett’s accomplishment represents more than an individual honor. It gives the next generation of Rebels players an example of how the journey that begins at the youth level can continue onto some of the biggest stages in the sport.
From wearing the Rebels badge to competing professionally and representing Mexico on the international stage, Scarlett continues to build a remarkable legacy.
We are incredibly proud to call Scarlett a Rebels Alumni and congratulate her on this historic recognition.
