Rebels Soccer Club recently welcomed aspiring collegiate athletes to Southwestern College for its annual Girls College ID Camp, providing players with a unique opportunity to train, compete, and gain valuable exposure in front of college coaches from some of the nation’s top programs.

Designed to help players better understand the collegiate recruiting process while showcasing their abilities in a competitive environment, the camp brought together talented athletes from across the region for an evening focused on development, education, and opportunity.

Representatives from several respected collegiate programs attended the event, including UCLA, USC, University of San Diego, San Diego State, Point Loma Nazarene, Cal State Northridge, Cal State San Marcos, and UC Santa Barbara. Players participated in training sessions and competitive game environments while receiving direct feedback and insight from coaches actively involved in the recruiting process.

Beyond the on-field competition, the camp served as an educational experience for players and families looking to navigate the pathway to collegiate soccer. Attendees gained a greater understanding of what college coaches evaluate during the recruiting process and the standards required to compete at the next level.

A special thank you goes to Coach Cole Schmidt (UCLA), Coach Sugar Shinohara (USC), Andrew Montenegro (UC Santa Barbara), and all of the attending college coaches who dedicated their time and expertise to support the development of our players. Their willingness to engage with athletes and share their experiences helped make the event both impactful and inspiring.

At Rebels Soccer Club, creating opportunities for players to pursue their goals beyond youth soccer remains a cornerstone of our mission. Events like the College ID Camp continue to strengthen the connection between player development and collegiate opportunities while helping athletes take meaningful steps toward their future.

Thank you to all of the players, families, and college coaches who helped make this year’s College ID Camp a tremendous success. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities that support our players’ ambitions both on and off the field.
